I got great experience at the Wellcome Collection. The exhibit was called yellowbluepink (Ann Veronica Janssens’ yellowbluepink runs from 15 October 2015 – 3 January 2016. States of Mind: Tracing the edges of consciousness runs from 4 February to 16 October 2016.). This exhibition is use coloured mist and light. Also this space is limited. Before enter the space all visitors need to read a caution sheet to experience the exhibition. First When I walked into this space, the space makes me feel like walking through a mysterious dream that had thick fog. The reason why I felt like that was coloured mist in the space. It completely surrounds me. The mist is unscented and dry. The mist has three of colours yellow, pink, blue.  I couldn’t saw anything and made a guess how big that area was.  From this effects I was caught my eyes by this installation art. In addition, Move forward, I can see colour change yellow to pink and pink to blue. Due to this coloured mist, I can’t see anything except the mist. Thus, this effect is made me concentrate sense and dreamlike feeling strongly.

Ann Veronica Janssens is an artist who makes this interactive work. she wants to explore perception through use of colour and light. According to Janssens, “Nothing is more beautiful than a person’s own perception. I try to push it to its limits.” She wants to look into experience of human consciousness. From this start point, she made sensory art and remind us of the richness of our interaction with the world; a personal universe of experience constructed within the confines of our skulls. Continuing experiments in perception, using light and colour, Janssens has filled the white walled upstairs gallery with a dense mist, brightly lit in various colours through out the space.

The installation aims to deliberately disorientate, but also challenges the very process of perception and the way I interact with my external environment. Becoming active participants in the experiment, visitors are invited to experience a mix of emotions, or as the title of the longer term research project suggests, various states of mind. In addition, like a brainstorming. Before I knew about the aim of this artwork exactly, I just had several words in my head. For instance, dreamlike, colourful, interactive and unconsciousness. The reason why I thought like that is before I knew about the aim of artwork exactly. Janssens hopes that participants will slowly, happily be included by the experience of seeing, and I too eventually submitted myself to the gently tranquilising effect of the room.  Finally, If I have an opportunity to make my work with space or consciousness, I want to start Janssens idea which is about interactive perception.
